28th February 2011. This simple grass has so many different looks throughout the year. Sunlight on the dried seed heads is one of my favourites.
26th February 2011. In the middle of a common, with nowhere to shelter, I got absolutely soaked as the hail came down. Huge splashes in the water from the hailstones.
25th February 2011. Today's task was to photograph the Spinone merchandise that will be on sale at Crufts.
24th February 2011. Beautiful sky tonight as I was crossing Westminster Bridge.
23rd February 2011. Everything is soaked with the recent rain, this willow looked decidedly damp.
21st February 2011. I got quite excited today when I saw this ladybird as I thought it was something different, only to find it was one of the Asian harlequin variety which is now quite common in the South of England.
20th February 2011. The first daffodil flower of the year emerged today. They seem very late. This one is in a pot next to the house wall, there are none flowering in the garden yet, only a few buds.
18th February 2011. I thought this was a fox when I was taking it from quite a distance away. There have been quite a few foxes around recently, we hear them a lot at night and they drive the dogs nuts.
15th February 2011. Some new beads for my bracelet arrived today, very colourful.
14th February 2011. The sky was full of huge fluffy white clouds today, looked lovely against the bright blue sky.
13th February 2011. And here's a pittosporum seed case before it has opened.
12th February 2011. This pittosporum's seed case has opened and the inside is full of this sticky yellow substance.
11th February 2011. The first and only camelia in flower, 3 weeks later than the first one last year.
10th February 2011. The sky was very colourful this evening when I was walking along the Victoria Embankment.
9th February 2011. This solitary primula looks a bit rough around the edges but brings a welcome burst of colour to the garden.
8th February 2011. I was surprised how close we were able to get to the deer on the Chatsworth Estate.
7th February 2011. Went back for a second visit to the 3 week old litter of puppies. They are very cute
4th February 2011. It's very windy here today, captured by my black bamboo.
Of course a small breeze compared to the terrible Cyclone Yasi experienced
by the people of Queensland this week.
A few minutes earlier the sky had a purple red tinge to it. As the sun rose
it turned a stunning yellow gold colour.
2nd February 2011. I was amazed to see these daffodils in full bloom while
walking along the Victoria Embankment. The ones in the garden are only just
emerging from the ground so it will be a little while before they flower.
